Survive Financially. Here in Survival-Gears, we not only talk about gears and stuff but also Surviving Financially. Doesn't everybody want and need this? Financial survival is one important aspect we need for us and for our family. Why? because everything we do, everything we need, we need to have money to make it work. We need to buy our basic needs to survive like Food, water, clothes and shelter. We need to work to survive. But in working, we also need to spend money like transportation, gasoline, cell phone for communication, tools and equipments we need in order for us to perform our work.
How to survive from financial crisis?
First, sit down, relax and access your situation
Yes, I understand that your worried of what you will eat? How can your pay your loans? How can you pay your credit cards? How can you buy the things your need?
Those questions will really give you sleepless nights and may even cause you to get a nervous breakdown.
So relax, take a sit and access your situation.
Let us pray before doing anything else and ask for guidance. Then call your family together. If you are married and have children, call your spouse, tell her/him your financial situation, call your kids and also tell them your financial status. This is a family matter and having it to yourself won't help you. You need to work as a team to help each other to think of a plan on how to beat this financial crisis and survive.
If you're single, you can talk to your parents, siblings and relatives. In the current situation, you may not only encounter the financial crisis, but some of your family members may also be in the same situation. So helping each other out, giving advice to each other and lifting up each others spirits to fight and overcome the situation will be more effective. Doing it alone will be hard. Remember, every time we have a problem, we should always talk to someone to release our anger, sadness, anxiety or stress in order for us to be able to think well. Releasing is not a bad thing. Talking to someone is not a bad thing too. Just be sure to talk to a trustworthy person if things are personal.
Now, what should we access? We should check on our financial capacity. How much savings we have? How long will it last if we will not have any income for several months or years? What are the important things we need to spend? How can we earn in different ways either small or big? Access everything.

Second, list all your expenses
Listing all your expenses and I mean everything. From small to big. Yearly, Monthly, Weekly and daily expense.
Listing all your expense will help you budget the money you need. You will also know which are “WANTS” and which are “NEEDS”. During the financial crisis, we focus on all the expenses that are “NEEDS”. We may set aside the “WANTS” for the meantime until we are able to recover.
What are “NEEDS”?
Basically, they are our basic needs. Like food, water, clothes, shelter, medicines, electric bills, water bills, internet bills and other needs that will keep us being productive or do our work. List them all and organized it putting the most important expense on the top and less important at the bottom.
Third, cut down all expenses to the minimum
Basically, we need to cut down all expenses. When we say cut down, really sacrifice our wants. We need to focus on our needs. For example, we go to eat our every week. For the meantime, remove the eating out and just cook a good meal for your family inside your home. If you have several plans of cell phones and gadgets, just maintain the important one and end the subscription of the rest. The important thing is we have food to eat and have a shelter to live in. So bring down all your living expenses to the minimum.
If you have credit card bills, focus on one card and pay the rest in minimum. Focus on the smallest card balance and pay it all up first. Then go to the next card until you pay up the next card also. Do this until you finish paying them all. This will take some time, but it will help you get out of the debt slowly.
Cut down electric cost and water cost by lessen the usage. Use air condition unless it is really hot.

Fourth, make several ways of income
Know we know what are our expenses. We know what to cut down, what to buy and what to pay. So, what we need is the money to do all those things. We need to generate income in any ways, as long as it is legal. We should generate income in different ways too. Not only one source of income but multiple source of income. So that if we encounter problems or unwanted situations, we will still be able to have income in other ways. I've created some list on ways to generate source of income.
